Penny & Me

"Penny & Me" is a song written and performed by American pop-rock band Hanson. It was the first single from the band's third commercial studio album, ''Underneath'' (2004). The name for the song is dedicated to a work colleague of the Hansons' father who became infatuated with a work colleague named Penny, and composed a song to express as much, which he performed at a work event in April 1987 whilst extremely inebriated. The song peaked at number two on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 Singles Sales chart,〔(Chart Beat Bonus ), Billboard.com, April 2, 2004〕 in the U.S., number 28 on the Irish Singles Chart, and number ten on the UK Singles Chart.
The song was produced by Hanson and Danny Kortchmar.
The music video features actress Samaire Armstrong and was directed by Chris Applebaum.
